Have you ever run across a article on a website and thought to yourself, "That's really great information but I don't have the time to read it now." And then when you do have the time you don't have the article.
Now I know you can always bookmark it but that would fill up your bookmarks pretty fast. So here is a great solution that I recently came across. It is a site called Instapaper. They describe as "A simple tool to save web pages for reading later." Registration is free and easy.
Here is a quick video to show you how to use it….enjoy!
A friend of ours recently posted on Facebook about a bad experience they had with a local restaurant here in the Buffalo area. Fully half of the comments on the post said that they wouldn't consider going there after reading about our friend's experience.
While I'm sure it won't put the restaurant out of business they will lose money because of it. And I'd bet that they do not even know that people are talking about them or maybe they don't care.
Granted this isn't a big deal in the overall scheme of things but it does point out that when people are unhappy about something they use social media to tell others about it. And of course they also share the good experiences as well.
Whether it be a blog, Twitter, Facebook or some other social networking site people are talking about you and your business. The question is do you want to take part in the conversation?
I'm going to do a short video for the blog explaining what The Blog Builder Guy will do for you. I'm working on a script for it. And I use the word script very loosely as this won't be anything fancy. In fact, it will be my first foray into the world of video.
I'm a little on the nervous side but I've been practicing my "lines" and the jitters are starting to go away…until the camera starts to roll!
So stay tuned and hopefully by Monday the video will be live!!!!
I've been working on an email mini-course on blogging. It's about half done at this point. Once it is completed I'll put a sign up form on the site. After you sign up, you'll receive a short lesson related to blogging everyday in your email.
Some of the topics will include tips for personal blogging, blogs for business and how to earn a blog income. I'm looking at a total of 10 to 14 topics at this time with maybe an advanced course sometime in the future.
The website/blog is up and running!! It took a lot of work but that's mostly because I wanted it to be perfect. I'm sure it isn't and I'm hoping my readers will give me their thoughts on what could use changing.
As you can see The Blog Builder Guy has the look and feel of a website and a blog. WordPress, while generally thought of as a blogging platform, serves as a website building platform as well.
So if you wanted a website and thought WordPress was not for you…not so!
